Acrylic paint is perfect for layering, and is water-based, and quick to dry. Combining acrylic with other mediums and gels, makes it quite versatile for use in mixed media painting. Pastels, when blended methodically, both soft and oil, provide smooth and rich tones, just as with charcoal.
Paint pouring is a popular and innovative way to use acrylic paints to create an art piece. Brushes and knives are not necessary with this technique of painting. The use of pouring devices, gels, surfaces, and varying movements while pouring the medium onto the surface, is what makes these paintings so colorful and unique.
What Inspires Me
Most of my projects focus on themes which feature the female figure, portraits, sea life, and fantasy.
I see life as an eclectic mass of layers, textures, and colors. The depth and intrinsic details are what makes life’s experience so unique and beautiful. With each painting, I incorporate those layers of which I find flawed, yet stunning and unique.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is what you choose to see. “Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it” – Confucius. I choose to see beauty and to provide opportunities to beauty in my work.
